Officials of the 373-bed Hospital describe the centerpiece of the expansion project being a 7-Story, 292,000 square-foot tower which will house 12 intensive care patient rooms, 60 medical and surgical patient rooms, a laboratory and food services operations. The expansion project will also include several other major components including:
- A new 4-level, 861-space Parking Garage
- A new 3-floor, 60,000 square-foot Medical Office Building
- A seismic retrofit and cosmetic upgrades to an existing patient tower
- Imaging Department equipment additions and replacements with facility updates and expansion
The expansion project is expected to be completed in 2018. The material testing and special inspection scope of services includes the main portion of this project, a 7-story structural steel tower of “SidePlate”construction with drilled piers structural concrete decks and shotcrete retaining walls. Other portions of the project includes a MRI Imaging center, seismic upgrades and cosmetic upgrades to the existing patient tower, multi-story 60,000 square-foot Medical Office Building and a 4-level parking structure. This project will be constructed in accordance with the 2010 addition of Title 24 California Code of Regulations (CCR) standards and is under the jurisdiction of The Office of Statewide Health Planning and Development (OSHPD).
United Inspection & Testing is providing Geotechnical Engineering, Material Testing and Special Inspection Services including but not limited to; cast-in-place concrete and rebar, structural steel, miscellaneous metals, epoxy dowels, drilled-in-anchors, ground penetrating radar, pachometer testing, shotcrete, masonry, fireproofing, FRP Testing, Shop Fabrication Inspections, anchor testing, cast-in-place piles, shoring, and geotechnical services.
