The new high school will provide state-of-the-art educational facilities for 9th through 12th grade students. The project consists of three small schools that include classrooms, science labs, student dining area and administrative offices. Shared facilities among the three small schools will include performing arts classrooms, a multipurpose room, a gymnasium, support services, food services, play fields, and a parking structure.
The scope for this project was the master plan and design of a new high school occupying two city blocks on 8.41 acres. The south side of the campus prominently showcases a 93,150 SF Classroom Building containing three SLCs, each with its own dedicated quad. The first floor of each 24,000 sqft. SLC is occupied by administrative offices, indoor dining and an outdoor lunch shelter, a set-aside classroom and a flexible classroom. The second and third floors house 10 general classrooms, a flexible science lab, and a chemistry lab. Completing the south campus are the school's 15,000 sqft. Library, 13,000 sqrft. Multi-purpose building, 36,000 sqrft. Gym, and a service yard. The north side of campus includes a 42,000 sqrft. Parking Structure with 120 stalls on the ground level. The structure's rooftop features five full size Basketball Courts and two large stairs that double as bleachers. A soccer/football stadium, jogging track, and instructional garden round out the remaining space on the north side of campus. Fifty percent of the classroom buildings and gymnasium roofs, as well as a portion of the parking structure, are designed for future installation of photovoltaic arrays to help power the school facilities. The project's total building area is 200,500 sqft. with a total building footprint of 110,300 sqft.
United is responsible for all the materials testing and inspection services throughout the construction of the project. United’s scope of services to provide includes concrete, masonry, fireproofing, steel and all shop fabrication.
